The idea of abstract data types is introduced and real data structures such as lists, linked lists, record, stacks, trees, and graphs are explained in terms of their basic structure and in the ways that they can be used in practical programming problems. Several programming assignments are required. Prerequisites: CMP 103 and CMP 109
