PSYC 0333 - Practicum in Psychology

Students seek placement in agencies which provide various psychological services to the community. The primary goal of the placement is to provide an opportunity for the student to become involved in a meaningful manner with the services provided by the agency. It is hoped that the student can make a contribution to the service. The student is responsible, under the joint direction of an agency representative and a Department of Psychology supervisor, for the formulation of a detailed outline of activities, time commitment, and responsibilities. The student will also prepare a term paper and a final evaluation related to the activities in which he/she is involved. The agency is expected to provide general supervision and make a final evaluation of the student's performance. The Department representative will make periodic evaluations of the student's performance and will cooperate fully with the agency supervisor. Interested students should contact the Chair of the department. Prerequisites: PSYC 0101, PSYC 0201, PSYC 0322, and PSYC 0323.
