This course focuses on the recognition, immediate treatment and referral of common non-orthopedic injuries and illnesses that may occur during or be exacerbated by physical activity. Medical terminology, documentation, pre-participation physical examinations, diagnostic imaging, pharmacology, standard practices for counseling intervention, and position statements regarding participation in physical activity will also be discussed. Prerequisites: MOVP 0100 and BIOL 0239.
