Designed to introduce students to the world of hypertext and nonlinear, multimedia communication. Introduces multimedia authoring software, and emphasizes the development and writing of nonlinear, hypertext scripts. Students will be able to develop their own hypertexts, animations, sounds, and digital images, which will contribute towards a final interactive multimedia project. Students will be encouraged to explore the uses and philosophical implications of interactive, nonlinear mediated communication, to develop form in relation to content, to integrate diverse elements of their work, and to experiment beyond their usual area of specialization. Prerequisite: COMM 0223.
