This seminar will address the current and historical practice of biology as an experimental science. We will examine how our current understanding of several areas of biology has developed and what the criteria for scientific knowledge and practice are now. This course will meet for one hour of weekly discussion. Successful completion of the course will require presentation of a portfolio documenting the student's progress in meeting the departmental learning goals. Prerequisite: Permission of instructor.
