The purpose of this course is for the student to develop an understanding of the psychological and ethical factors affecting human development and to distinguish among them as they pertain to various clinical issues such as death and dying, human sexuality, chronic illness, and the emotional issues of daily living. This course also provides an opportunity for the student to learn to integrate the concepts of health promotion and preventive measures into the practice of medicine. Offered only to physician assistant majors during the fi rst professional year.
