One unit. The period of great wealth and cultural magnifi cence in Italy that was fostered by rapidly growing city-states such as Florence and Venice. The course will focus on Renaissance music, literature, art, and architecture, as well as political life, the culture of the laboring classes, the roles of women, and the rise of a highly sophisticated urban aristocracy.
