This course presents some of the fi nest in contemporary Irish novels, short stories, and plays from the Emerald Isle, including: drama by Nartin McDonagn, Conor McPherson and Marie Jones; and fi ction by Frank McCourt, Roddy Doyle, Edna O'Brien, Anne Enright, William Trevor and Seamus Deane. Also considered are the fi lms of Neil Jordan, Pat Sheridan and others. Offered fall semester of even-numbered years.
