An introduction to the chronological history of mathematics and the mathematics who made significant contributions, emphasizing the evolution of basic concepts ranging from primitive number systems through the foundations of set theory. Topics include development of Mathematical concepts in ancient societies, pre-Calculus and Calculus of the seventeenth century; and a historical review of mathematical analysis, probability, statistics, algebra, number theory and geometry. Introduction to graphs and digraphs, introduction to algorithms, tree, networks, Eulerian and Hamiltonian graphs, planar graphs, coloring of graphs. Prerequisites: MATH 201 Calculus II; CSCI 281 Discrete Structures
