S An advanced study of the application of theories and concepts of developmental and behavioral psychology to a range of specific issues and problems of childhood and adolescence. This course relies heavily on the empirical research literature. Topics include contemporary social issues and child development, research in applied settings, assessment, intervention, and prevention, as well as program evaluation. (Same as PSYC 565.) (Formerly HDFL 565.) Prerequisite: ABSC/HDFL 160 or PSYC 333, and ABSC/HDFL/ PSYC 535. LEC
