Via critical analysis of select musical and media texts, students investigate the primary approaches to the study of U.S. Latino popular expression and identity. A broad range of contemporary Cultural Studies theory is included in this analysis of the historical, socio-political, and artistic uses of popular culture within various U.S. Latino communities.
