The course examines the ethical and practical problems involved in fighting even a "just"war. Allaspects of the greatest conflict in human history from the rise of Hitler in Germany to the Holocaust to the controversial use of the atomic bomb to end the war will be examined.Students will debate and submit argumentative essays regarding a variety of issues that arose in the context of the war. (Interdisciplinary social science course)
