Introduces students to the major topics and themes arising from the innumerable connections that existed between peoples who crisscrossed the Atlantic Ocean between 1500 and 1800. Students examine topics such as encounter, environment, migration, piracy, slavery, and revolution in Africa, Europe, North America, and South America. Prerequisite: senior status or consent.
