First term of advanced research, concept development and art production in the student's concentration area: painting, sculpture, photography, ceramics, printmaking or graphic design. Course requirements are contracted with the B.F.A. thesis adviser. Cannot be taken concurrently with A496, A497. Prerequisites: completion of 400-level sequence in chosen concentration area, A 315, A 316, A 498 and acceptance to the B.F.A. program.
