This course 1) provides a thorough overview of a variety of poetry writing processes, 2) exposes students to classics of the genre and work being done now in the genre as models, prompts, and inspirations, 3) provides students with the vocabulary and analytical skills necessary to critique the writing of others, and 4) introduces students to the processes of analyzing and revising their own poetry.
