Participants in this intensive language and culture immersion program will increase oral proficiency and deepen cross-cultural competencies through Spanish language immersion and intercultural exchange taught by WCSU faculty in Spanish. The first week of the course will focus on arts appreciation and creative inquiry, the enviroment and social change, and cultural knowledge related to the social and political history of the region through lectures and discussion with faculty from WCSU in partnership with faculty from an institution of higher education abroad. In addition to the study of language and culture, this seminar will provide teacher training and professional development for current and future teachers with more than 30 hours of classroom observations in schools, opportunitites to participate in teaching lessons, and instructional technology final projects.
