This course explores Iberian and Latin American readings on the visual arts, cinema, architecture and music. A variety of texts, such as essays, scholarly articles, film, opera, songs, poetry, and autobiographic prose created on both sides of the Atlantic will serve as a starting point for an exploration of the plastic and performing arts on the Iberian Peninsula and Latin America from the prehistoric times to the present. Reading, classroom discussions and writing assignments are designed to improve students' speaking and writing skills in Spanish.
