This course will take an empirical approach to the psychological study of persuasion and social influence. Major topics will include attitudes and attitude change, the attitude-behavior relationship, interpersonal and group influence, resistance, strategies and techniques of persuasion and influence, and the impact of culture, personality and gender on these processes. Special attention will be given to the major theoretical approaches. This course will take an empirical approach to the psychological study of persuasion and social influence.
