An introduction to the intellectual roots of contemporary scientific psychology in which students learn about the methods, concepts, theories and facts that make up the history of psychology by examining the philosophical antecedents of scientific psychology, the rise of scientific psychology and the classical schools of psychological thought (e.g., structuralism, functionalism, behaviorism, psychoanalysis, neobehaviorism, gestalt psychology).
