An introduction to the film as a communication medium, including historical, theoretical and critical approaches to the film experience, providing students opportunities to interact with film and, through a variety of transactions, develop their perceptions and critical awareness of the film experience. Representative films will be viewed and discussed. Students will be expected to do a series of papers examining how specific films communicate. Spring semester.
