Students consider the rise and fall of empires and shifting regional influences as a result of the emergence of the transatlantic region. Europe's revolutionary transformation and its impact on the world; the rise of global interaction and conflict; the colonial and post-colonial eras and the resulting tensions and achievements of these events are examined within the context of modernity.
