This course will provide students with active participation in the assessment and development of abilities in line with college expectations including an orientation to college services and activities, learning and test taking skills, using traditional and electronic resources, problem solving, people skills, self-management skills, and career/life planning strategies. team member in the surgical suite. The course will introduce surgical procedures, incisions and wound closures, and the various surgical specialties. Clinical assignments will be conducted in the surgical suites of area hospitals under the direct supervision of the clinical instructor or mentor. (3 lecture and 9 clinical hours per week.)
