3 Cr. This course is designed to provide skills training for individuals who are exploring a medical or clinical based career. Motivational Interviewing (MI) is an evidencebased communication strategy that is useful for people who are ambivalent about change. MI has been adapted to a variety of healthcare settings and currently there are models of MI for physicians, nurses, dietitians, and social workers in addition to counseling professionals. Restricted to students with junior standing or higher.
