3 Cr. A course presenting the study and critical analysis of the different pedagogical approaches of the teaching of singing and the study of vocal disorders for elementary, middle, and high school age students and beyond. For the advanced vocal/choral student, it is a research and discussion course with a major research paper. The course includes practice teaching, studio management, and business practices of private teaching. A vocal lab for teaching private voice lessons is a practicum experience for both the student teacher and the student singer. Offered every other year.
