3 Cr. An introduction to developmental theories in art. A history of art education leading to current issues in aesthetics and criticism. A survey of children and adolescent art from a variety of cultures and special populations. A studio component of the course is intended to provide experience in using materials for meaningful expression and planning for a community-based experiential component of the class. This course is intended for Bachelor of Art Education students, but it may also be of interest to non-majors seeking a general introduction to artistic development.
