Multiple phases of meteorology are examined and applied by students. Principles of meteorology, familiarization with pre-flight weather briefings, enroute weather reports and weather hazards are studied, preparing students for flight applications. The laboratory portion ensures that the use of Direct User Access Terminals (DUATs) is completely integrated in flight plan pre-paration by using weather maps and forecasts. This course may be taken as a basic science elective and is also part of the required set of courses for any student wishing to participate in the College's partnership program with the Federal Aviation Administration, the Air Traffic-Collegiate Training Initiative (AT-CTI) program. A grade of "C" obetter is required for AT-CTI program. Students not in the AT-CTI program may take an alternative section of the weather course.
