- 3 credits A basic course in industrial inspection methods, the use of gauges, electronic and optical comparators, statistical analysis of mass produced items and the use of control charts to detect changes in process. Other topics covered are the setting of control limits and lot sizes for sampling, sampling by variables and attributes, percent prediction of probable defects in a monitored process, production control and production reliability.
