A foundation course with emphasis on fundamental issues of art and design such as meaning, context, content and parameters, structure, materials, means of construction, form, space, and light. As the primary studio offering in the first year, these courses stress the development of values that will become the basis for student's actions as professional artists and designers. Introduces students to the values, habits, traditions and expectations of studio culture.
