Semester course; 40 to 50 hours per credit at the placement site. Variable credit. May be repeated for a total of 12 credits, but the maximum total for all internship and independent study courses is 12 credits. Prerequisites: Determination of the amount of credit and permission of the instructor and the group coordinator must be procured prior to enrollment in the course; a minimum GPA of 3.0 in the major. Placement of the students will provide appropriate supervised work experience. The setting will vary depending on the nature of the internship and the student's goals. This course is designed to enhance the major's career pursuits for either graduate-level training or post-baccalaureate employment.
