BIOE 160 - Biopharmaceutical Production

Three hours of lecture and nine hours of laboratory per week. Prerequisite: permission of department. Restricted to students in the Young Scholars Program. Credit will be granted for only one of the following: BIOE168 or BIOE160. Formerly BIOE168. Focuses on the basics of recombinant DNA technology as applied to biopharmaceutical manufacturing in a classroom setting. Students will work through a "production campaign" including all key steps of manufacturing a protein product.
