Examination, development, and use of a variety of means of evaluating student learning. Tests (both standardized and teacher-made) and non-test techniques of assessment are considered as well as their implications for instructional planning. Topics such as alternative assessment, self-assessment, portfolio development, rubrics, statewide assessment, and grading are examined.
