A study of contemporary philosophical work with special attention to the transition from modern philosophy to postmodern philosophy. Significant attention will be given to the work of Whitehead, Wittgenstein, Heidegger, and Sartre. Some attention will be given to the work of Gadamer, Quine, Austin, 2SRDavidson, Foucault, and Derrida. Prerequisite: PHL 3010 or PHL 3020 or permission of the instructor.
