Journalism is a system people use to get information about their societies. Good journalism is required for democracy. Students will learn and practice basic reporting and news writing skills. They can also expect to be introduced to the history, responsibility, freedom, techniques, ethics and functions of journalism. In addition to course readings, lectures and discussions students will complete weekly writing assignments.
