This course is an introduction to the history of art and covers works from the Prehistoric through the Modern Period. Painting, sculpture, architecture and design, as well as contemporary works that cross various disciplines, will be explored within the context of the world and how art defines societies and cultures. Students will learn to describe and analyze various artistic periods, styles, and movements that have influenced contemporary art and culture.
