1 semester hour Prerequisite: CHEM 131L or 141L Concurrent: with CHEM 310 This is a typical laboratory course in organic chemistry. Experiments develop a student's ability to separate compounds using chromatography, distillation, and extraction. Identification techniques such as gas chromatography (GC), thin-layer chromatography (TLC) are also taught. Also includes some synthetic experiments. Experiments generally parallel topics discussed in CHEM 310.
