3 semester hours This course offers a survey of the major taxonomic groups of the animal kingdom. The emphasis is on genetics, evolutionary biology, and classification. The anatomy, physiology, and ecology of each major animal phylum is contrasted with the other phyla. Societal concerns as well as global influences are addressed.
