CHEM 340 - Inorganic Chemistry

Institution:
The University of Findlay
Subject:
Description:
3 semester hours Prerequisites: CHEM 321, 321L This course introduces students to the theories of atomic structure and chemical bonding in main-group, transition-metal, and solid-state. Other topics include symmetry and its applications to bonding and spectroscopy, electronic spectroscopy of transition-metal complexes, mechanisms of substitution and redox processes, organometallic and bioinorganic chemistry. This course uses molecular orbital theory to explain the electronic structure and reactivity of inorganic complexes.
