1 semester hour Prerequisites: CHEM 141, 141L Concurrent: with CHEM 320 This is a typical laboratory course in organic chemistry. Experiments develop a student's ability to separate compounds using chromatography, distillation, and extraction. Identification techniques are also taught. Emphasis is placed on understanding the physical properties of organic compounds. Also includes some biologically significant synthetic experiments. Experiments generally parallel topics covered in the lecture.
