3 semester hours Prerequisite: MATH 142 This course provides an introduction to the mathematical modeling process and applies this process to problems that require the student to reason analytically, and relate mathematical concepts to everyday activities. Emphasis will be placed on connections of mathematics to application areas such as business, industry, economics, and physical, biological, and social sciences. Topics may include optimization techniques, deterministic and stochastic models, and simulations. This is an alternate year course.
