3 semester hours This course will focus on the existing technology tools as well as discussions on tools of the future to be used in the assessment, planning, and management of emergencies. Technology to be reviewed and utilized include: Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and land use mapping systems, public health databases, and various communication technologies. In addition the concept of communication inoperability will be addressed.
