3 semester hours Prerequisite: CSCI 150 or permission of the instructor This is a study of Windows operating system for personal computers including topics such as: file, document, and folder management, working on multiple documents, formatting and defragmentation, scanning disks for errors, customizing your computer, backing up files and registry, creating startup disk, connecting to an Internet Service Provider (ISP), downloading software, communicating with other computers, transferring files between two PCs, installing/uninstalling software, and installing new hardware. This course also includes file, folder management, and working with batch files using Window's disk operating system (DOS) command line user interface. A major project will be assigned.
