3 semester hours Prerequisite(s): ENGL 106 or 107 and CJAD 101 or permission of instructor This course provides an extensive coverage of landmark cases decided by the U.S. Supreme Court in the area of criminal procedure. Areas to be covered include confessions, search and seizure, interrogation, arrest, right to counsel, lineups, and other critical stages of the criminal process. The student will be exposed to theoretical and practical applications of our constitutional protections relative to the criminal justice system.
