3 semester hours This course is taught in English. With the changes in Europe and the new role a United Germany will play in the world, it seems feasible to consider the German influence in America. Germans have played a major role in government, business, the arts (music, art, and literature), science, and space research. Some 50 German-speaking scientists have received Nobel Prizes in physics, chemistry, and medicine. One fifth of the population of the United States is of German origin.
