1 semester hour Prerequisite: COMM 217 or permission of the instructor This course will build on the knowledge gained from basic understanding of the major trade journals in communication with the focus being on exploration and explanation of the current issues and trends in the field. Greater emphasis will be placed on the students' understanding of the context of current issues and actions being taken in communication, and students will be expected to report in written and oral form the movement of these trends and the potential effects they have.
