4 semester hours Prerequisite: MUSC 129 or its equivalent This course provides a basic knowledge of rudimentary 17th and 18th century chordal harmony, elementary ear training and sight singing, functional piano keyboard skills, etc., through harmonic, melodic, and formal musical analyses and beginning composition exercises. Designed for the needs of the minor in musical arts; however, open to all students. Available for independent study.
