3 credit hours (Prerequisite: LANG 6043) An advanced course surveying the exegetical method including syntactical and semantic diagramming, introduction to textual criticism, and readings from selected portions of the New Testament, and emphasizing the value of Greek exegesis of the Biblical text for teaching and preaching. Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to translate from selected portions of the New Testament, and should be able to write an exegetical research paper on a selected portion from the Gospel of John.
