Considered by many to be the greatest work of twentieth-century philosophy, it has also influenced religious studies, psychology, literary criticism, cognitive science, and many other fields. Heidegger explores in fascinating detail what it is like to experience life as a human being, in such a way as to be at once both astonishing and profoundly familiar.
