Topics covered include minerals, igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic rocks, volcanism, seismicity, landscape evolution, effects of water, wind and ice, plate tectonics, crustal deformations, geological time and a brief history of the North American continent. Laboratory exercises include rock and mineral identification, map interpretation and field excursions to local areas of interest.
