Focusing on the National Council for the Social Studies (NCSS) standards and the Ohio Academic Content Standards for Social Studies, this course addresses the social studies education of adolescent/young adults (grades 7-12), with an emphasis on standards, scope and sequence, resources, learning activities, teaching strategies, technology and assessment techniques. The course provides the student with an understanding of issues and the teaching/learning processes as applied to adolescent settings. Prerequisite: Admission to the Teacher Education Program.
