Focusing on the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) standards and the Ohio Academic Content Standards for English Language Arts, this course addresses the language arts education of adolescents (grades 7-12), with an emphasis on standards, scope and sequence, resources, learning activities, teaching strategies, technology and assessment techniques. The course provides the student with an understanding of issues and the teaching/learning processes as applied to adolescent settings. Prerequisite: Admission to the Teacher Education Program.
